Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse Productions, the film studio known for making horror films such as The Purge series and Get Out, has announced that his company will produce a remake of Steven Spielberg's 1975 horror classic Jaws, which many people are not happy with. When asked why this decision was made, Blum responded "we made a 2018 sequel-reboot to Halloween which was successful, so Mr. Spielberg gave us the rights to remake his film. Also, the sequels messed the series up enough, we couldn't mess it up further."
