Several people who were hiking along the Dobson Trail in Riverview were shaken up this afternoon.
Marie Aldouin was walking with her husband Sebastian their two children and the family dog. They were walking up just past the 3km mark on the trail when they heard strange noises all around them.
"It was like nothing I had ever heard before!" says Marie. Suddenly their dog started barking and the strange howling and growling could be heard coming towards them.
Sebastian who had the dog on leash says what he saw next was indescribable. "It was this 8 foot tall shadow coming toward me. I could see a pair of eyes and when my dog lunged the creature just came at us!"
"I heard screams from my husband and the dog barking. I thought we were all going to get attacked!" Marie stated. "We thought it was a black bear at first, but we were mistaken!"
The DFO has been contacted, but they have refused our request for a comment.
"It's really scary to think we have a bigfoot right here around a popular walking trail." Sebastian said. "We were able to get away by running through the woods and going down to the creek"
They scared the creature off by throwing rocks into the water. "I was so scared I didn't even have time to call 911"
The public is advised to stay clear of the area until DFO can determine what type of animal is roaming around.
