PNC Bank NA was acquired by JPMorgan Chase Bank in an unsolicited hostile takeover bid it was reported Thursday. Jaime Dimon, CEO of Chase Bank, made the announcement at the end of trading Thursday. "By acquiring PNC, we strengthen our position in global banking by eliminating a growing brand in PNC." Representatives from PNC's Board of Directors did not respond to requests about the reported sale as of the time of publication.
