20-year-old Jamell demons, also known as YNW Melly, of Gifford, Florida, was granted a $500,000 bond as he awaits trial for double murder, broward county court records show on Friday, December 13.
The 20-year-old troubled rapper is facing the possibility of the death penalty for the double murder of his two friends on October, 26, 2018.
This decision came six months after YNW Melly‘s attorney, Bradford Cohen, filed a motion with the Broward county court asking Broward judge Andrew Siegel to grant his client bail, arguing there is very little evidence to link YNW Melly to the murders of his friends.
Even though YNW Melly is now released on bond, it doesn’t mean that he is 100 A free man. He is released under certain restrictions. First, he shall not possess any firearms, weapons, or ammunition of any kind. Second, he has to appear in court when needed. Failure to appear in court when needed will result in another arrest warrant issued and additional charges filed. And finally, he shall surrender his passport to the office of the Broward county clerk within 24 hours of his release.
Demons is charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder and he is due back in court December, 19th
