Discord is to shut down due to the GCP's reliability problems. Discord's CEO says
"We are very sorry but we have to shut down. The API we are currently using is unreliable and it costs too much money for us to switch over to a non-Google API at the moment. If we can get a non-GCP API for cheaper, if it's reliable we'll use it."
Gamers aren't too happy as they are relying on Discord. They say they don't want to use Skype, because Skype's "poor." Discord says there aren't any other low budget alternatives to GCP and are having to shut down so their users don't have to deal with an unreliable API.
