The first human-chimpanzee hybrid, termed “humanzee,” was born in the Chicago Genetic Engineering Laboratory (CGEL) on 1/9/2020. Dr Micheal Lamar White, the leader of the project, says that “Marshal, my pet humanzee, is my new best friend. He walks upright like a human, and he has human-like eyes, too. He has the voice of like a human but raspier. He has a beard even though he’s only a baby. He has an ape-like face. I love him very much. He’s awesome!” Little does Dr White know that his pet ape-man had a brain tumor after he was born. Scientists removed it so that Marshall could survive. Dr White wasn’t told this because scientists thought he was going to freak out.
