A 13 year old boy was found running across a road near ACSI. According to the police, he was there at around 2:45pm, after he had been released from school. The boy, who police suspect is an ACS Year one boy named Oakley, was seen to be running across the road, even tough multiple people by the side of the road warned him not to. One witness, Ms Varshini, reported,"That boy was very mischevious. I kept saying (to the boy)
' Stop! Stop! You might get into an accident'. But (the boy) never listened to me." Police say that the boy was arrested and immediately brought into detainment. Police say that the boy was impatient and didn't want to wait for the traffic light to turn green, so he dashed across the road, leading to almost the loss of life of Mr Ong, who was driving his van at the time. He recounted," I was just driving on the road when suddenly, this fat boy just go on the road.Luckily, I (had) enough time to swerve my van to the right, and I crashed into the curb. The mother of the boy, Mrs Chua, also had a few things to say about the incident. She noted that even though the boy ran onto the road, it was 'not his fault' as he shouldn't be made to wait for the traffic light. The court case will be on Monday, 10 February, where Mr Ong will be going against Mrs Chua, with Ms Varshini to testify for the case.
