At 3:29 PM CST, Authorities were called on the 3rd Street in Los Angeles in response to shots fired. When police arrived, a man was laying on the curb with his thought to be crew around him. The man was shot multiple times, but was still alive. An ambulance arrived shortly after, attempting to help the man, but got no result. The man was rushed to the hospital with his crew, and was pronounced dead at the Good Samaritan Hospital.
At 3:57 PM CST, the men who witnessed the shooting identified the man as Symere Woods, A.K.A Platinum Artist Lil Uzi Vert. The witness, which were Uzi’s friends, confirmed it was a drive-by shooting, by 3 men in a black Tahoe.
At 4:00 PM CST, TMZ confirmed his death.
Lil Uzi Vert was the creator of the hit song “XO TOUR LIF3” which has over 1 billion plays on Spotify. Twitter has responded to his death, with tags RIPUZI LLU and LLS.
The police confirmed that there will be a full investigation at the scene.
