Naked Man Behind Wythe County Bars

On the 26 of March it was just another day of relaxing at home for some of the residence of Fort Chiswell Virginia but for some it was a day that would haunt them forever.
Outside of Wythe County Virginia is a small town called Fort Chiswell. "The town is quiet beautiful and very peaceful." Long time resident Brenda Carter says. "But honestly I am not sure if peace exist in these times."
Carter was the first of many phone calls to authorities that night of March 26. Widowed Brenda Carter age 54 says that she was about to rest but she heard a strange noise coming outside of her window.
Mrs. Carter didn't think much of it since she feeds most of the neighborhoods stray cats. It wasn't until strange sounds were echoing through her window that peaked her curiosity.
"I looked outside and I was in shock!" Carter exclaims. "It was, a oh my god I am embarrassed to even say it but a man in his birthday suit outside my window."
Mrs. Carter startled the man when she screamed but she still called police but the man was long gone and there was not much authorities could do. In the statement from Mrs. Carter she describes the perpetrator as a tall white male with grayish white hair. He had a beard and was heavy set. She also states that the unidentified man at the time was rubbing his genitals on her home.
That night calls came in all over the area of strange noises and a few said that they saw a white male naked in their yards.Police searched all over but found nothing .
It wasn't until Brittany Hanson 28 years of age called cops on March 28th of 2020. Hanson did a full interview with us giving as many details as she could about the night she helped bring down what the police are calling "Mr Naked Man."
Hanson said she was about to lay down for the night but she kept hearing sounds of moans she at first brushed it off but she got curious when the sounds got louder. Instead of looking out her window she pulled up her security to see a man naked on her lawn.
"He was outside on the ground I wanted to go out there and confront him but I was honestly scared of what may had happened if I did." Hanson states.
She described the man humping the ground of her lawn. She immediately called authorities and made sure she didn't startle the man. After a few minutes she saw that the perp was no where in sight. But a few seconds later he was back in her front lawn walking up to her front door.
"I saw him walking up and I thought dear god he is going to break in," Hanson said. "But all he did is press his body up against my door. It was so quiet I will be honest if I didn't know he was out there already I would have never known a strange mans body was up against my door."
When authorities arrived they too were in shock to see the sight of a grown man naked outside on someone else's property.
They said the assailant tried to run but they quickly caught him. He tried to at first say it was his home but they knew better. Once the arrest was made the man who is now identified as Arnold Stuart Thomas said to the arresting officer that he was only trying to have fun.
They believe the man to be on some sort of substance. Once they got him back to the station they questioned the naked stranger Arnold stated, " I thought if someone saw me they let me in and we could have fun if you catch my drift. "
To protect the victims homes the authorities arrested Thomas around the area of Fort Chiswell's grocery store Food Country. Thomas admitted to looking into over 40 to 50 some homes in that area.
Thomas bragged that he went back to a few windows and no one ever knew. He even admitted to relieving himself on some of the homes and their belongings. With further investigation they are hoping to have an idea of victims who do not know they were victims to this crime.
The county said they would keep an update on the situation but for those in the area near the local store Food Country to keep your doors locked and blinds down.
