On April 7th, the American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) announced that most 2019-2020 fellowship training programs will be postponed. In a statement released from the organization on Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Eugene Cantonelli, MD states, “In this difficult time we must take unprecedented action to better service our communities...” The Professor and Chairman of Duke University’s Department of Infectious Diseases states most of these rising fellows will be reassigned to serve as relief for our inundated emergency room and critical care physicians. Chip Routt, MD a practicing Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon from the busiest trauma center in the country located in Houston replies, “Say lag screw.” We interviewed Dr Matt Reid, an incoming orthopedic sports fellow and founder of Cat Facts, LLC on his thoughts. “ACLs aren’t that important,” he states. “I’ve always wanted to do pelvic exams for vagina pain in the ED anyway.” Brad Dosher exclaims, “Bumble is literally out of people to swipe right on in Houston. I’m disappointed I won’t be dicking down fresh meat in Nashville.” Dr Norman Horace Ward III states we need a better plan. We reached to Dr Ryan Murphy but he never returned our calls.
