UPDATE: Leaks have been found stating that Nintendo are shutting down the servers to make new space for Splatoon 3 said to be released in Mid 2021 with the brand-new Nintendo Switch Pro being released

Yesterday, Nintendo announced the decline of Splatoon 2 players, and how they will tackle the arising problem. But just today they announced ground-breaking news. Nintendo was going to shut down servers Late 2020. It wasn't until backlash prevented them from doing it days before the E3 event. The specific date hasn't been announced but speculations are being created that it will be Early 2021.
