Lake Benton-MN Thursday, Residents should be on the lookout after a fourth bull shark sighting that was reported in Lake Benton, Minnesota. The bull shark was spotted by a boat at 7:59 am at Lake Benton, Minnesota by 4 people when they were doing a mid lake swim. Gary Williams 26, Robert Williams 45, Michael Garcia 23, and David Jones 40 were the witnesses that saw the shark. They were able to get back on the boat though. After they got on the boat the shark circled the boat and then dived back underwater. One person said we swam as fast as we could to the boat when we saw the fin of the shark. The witnesses said that the shark was about 10-12 feet long.

Brian Briar, National Resources Department in Marshall MN says, "Bull Sharks are known to be able to swim between salt and fresh water. Although they are able to swim in fresh water typically they are only found in tropical rivers around the world." This is the fourth reported sighting of a bull shark in Lake Benton this week. One was reported two days ago near the Lake Benton Resort Area. Scientists and authorities are still going to investigate how a bull shark got this far north from the Gulf of Mexico all the way up to a lake in Minnesota and why there have been sightings lately.
