Jordan R of the US holds the record for fastest time to peel and eat a single lemon at 8.25 seconds, while Denmark's Jim Lyngvild has the title for eating three whole lemons at 28.5 seconds. Some history behind lemons: The origin of the lemon is unknown, though lemons are thought to have first grown in Assam (a region in northeast India), northern Burma or China. A genomic study of the lemon indicated it was a hybrid between bitter orange (sour orange) and citron.
