Former Hamilton County Sheriff candidate and retired Lieutenant Jason Sloderbeck has been charged with multiple criminal charges after a joint investigation between the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Boone County Sheriff's Department, Noblesville Police Department, Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office, and Indiana State Police.

Sloderbeck, 49, of Arcadia was arrested by troopers with the Indiana State Polce and charged early Thursday morning with multiple criminal counts. Sloderbeck has been accused of theft, making false official statements, ghost employment, trafficking with an inmate, professional misconduct, obstruction of justice, sexual misconduct, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Hamilton County Prosecutor B. Luckingham stated in an early morning release, "We are disappointed in the life Mr. Sloderbeck has led in recent years. His unethical behavior should have been noticed and addressed years ago. That was not done, so we are where we are now. I hope the charges brought against Mr. Sloderbeck serve as a lesson to others in law enforcement sleeping around on and off duty, being a thief with a badge, lying as a matter of habit, and being a general nuisance to the community and your coworkers will not be tolerated." Luckingham also added the US Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana was also investigating Sloderbeck for multiple counts of civil rights violations. Their office declined to comment, based upon the active investigation into those allegations.

Officials from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Boone County Sheriff's Department, Noblesville Police Department, and Indiana State Police have not returned requests for information at this time.
