The Gemological Institute of America announced the development of a project for search to energy in minerals

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) together with International Mineralogical Association (IMA) and the International Union of Crystallography (IUC) have announced the development of a massive project for search and test if gems, crytals and minerals actually have some form of energy inside them that could be used for technological and scientific purposes.

The project, known as The Mineral Energy Initiative (MEI), will be developed by the new MEI working group that will lead the international effort to determine the existence of any form of energy stored in minerals.

The work of the team will be to collect and classify the large database of mineral samples, with the goal of searching for any possible “energetic signal”.

The team will also establish and establish if mineral samples have the energy and if the minerals can be considered as true gems or not.

The GIA will be in charge of organizing and providing information and expertise to the work.

The first round of the project will focus on the search for any type of energy associated with the most commonly known minerals found in the market, like diamonds, emeralds, ruby, sapphire, opals, calcite, feldspar, barite, etc.

“Energy is all around us, and there is a constant flow of energy into and out of living organisms,” said GIA president and chief executive officer, David H.S. Kang. “The energy of gemstones, and other materials, is a natural part of the natural world.”

The goal of the effort is to develop new, sustainable and non-polluting energy sources. The energy will be able to be produced through a variety of processes, including geothermal, solar, wind, hydroelectric and nuclear. The idea is to find minerals that can be tapped to power the world’s homes and create energy for cars, ships, trucks and airplanes.

The effort will begin in June and last approximately four years.
