In an unseen move Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton is seeking to forcibly annex the city of Hanson as part of their city. At present Mayor Cotton has sent notice of this to Governor Matt Bevin citing big tax losses due to the relocation of Walmart.
This of course will not come without major legal action as an annexation is usually voted upon by citizens of both cities and them approved by the state.
This is currently a developing story amd we hope to have an update or a response from Governor Bevin or the City of Hanson soon.
