The NL School District has decided that all students will be returning to school on April first, 2020. The reasoning for this event is simply because students need their education.
Teachers in fact, protested on the decision. Teachers are alarmed about COVID 19, as there are now 120 cases in NL. All teachers who started this riot were recently fired for doing so. About 50 teachers lost their job in total, at schools such as; Mount Pearl Intermediate, Villa Nova Junior High, O’Donel High, Bishop Field Elementary, and St Kevin’s High School.
The NL School District has declared that anyone who wishes to speak their mind, shall think twice. These words frightened many parents, teachers, etc. Thousands of people were shocked by those words. Nobody expected The NL School District to say that, because it sounded like a threat to almost everyone. People all over Newfoundland and Labrador are playing it safe, and “agreeing” to the NL School District.
Parents still concerned about students and teachers catching COVID 19, are very overwhelmed and many may be homeschooling their children because of this, which means many parents gave up their jobs to homeschool their child.
Will the NL School District change the decision? No. Are they concerned about the students and teachers health? Maybe not. Is there anything you can do about it? No.
Stay clear, stay safe, stay home. For now.
