LOS ANGELES, CA- Ever since the "Riverdale" Season 3 finale, The CW show has been hinting that Jughead Jones (played by Cole Sprouse) was murdered. This started the speculation around Cole Sprouse's future on his hit tv show. Things didn't seem good for Jughead throughout this current season of the show, as all signs point out to him being dead. From Archie and Veronica finding Betty standing over a lifeless Jughead, holding a bloody rock to Betty and Jughead's dad FP Jones identifying his body at the morgue. With each new episode, we get more glimpses into the story, but each additional piece of information just points more and more to Jughead really being dead.

Now, with the announcement from Cole Sprouse that he is exiting the show, fans can do nothing but assume that Jughead has really met his maker. Sprouse released this statement early Monday morning:

"There’s no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that has helped to redefine myself as an actor for the past 4 years. However, for some time now, I have started to feel like it was time for me to move on.

Sprouse's announced comes just a few weeks after it was announced that two of his fellow cast mates, Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jughead's dad FP Jones, and Marisol Nichols, who plays Veronica's mother Hermione Lodge, will also be exiting the show at the end of this season.

"I have been extremetly grateful to "Riverdale" and gained many friends who I will miss working with. They are some of the best coworkers a very lucky actor like me could ask for."

Sprouse's last episode will air on the "Riverdale" season finale on April 22, 2020.
